Family

Friends

Bass Trombone/Music

Pizza

Did I miss anything?  All five of those are synonymous with 'love' to me.  As long as I've got those, I'm what you might call a "Happy Camper" =).

----

Knock, knock...    [who's there?]   pizza...  [pizza who?]   Um, sir, the pizza you just ordered thirty minutes ago  [oh, sorry, thanks]

----

I'd like to thank a few people:

You know who- thanks for always being real.  You're probably the most real person I know.  Everything you say or do is completely genuine.  You can come have a beer an my house any day.  And... we are still going to take over the world with our trombones. That's a promise, my friend.

Gabe - thanks for always loving your friends so much, including me.  I want you to know how obvious it always is to me how much you care.  You shouldn't ever not feel loved too, you've always got me there, Gabe =).

Ross - you're also one of my best friends. I've been lucky to have you as a roommate as well.  Thanks for always asking how I'm feeling and asking about things going on in my life.  You're definitely one of the people I want to tell first when I have things to tell.  AND of course I'd like to thank you for making this world a funner place.

Jessica - thanks for wanting to know me and having patience with my busy life.  You're pretty new to my life as a girlfriend, although, I've known you for a while as an aquantance or close friend of friends.  I must say I've had great times hanging out with you thus far, and I hope there are many more experiences for us to come.  Thanks for the tea, taquitos, and smiles.  You're a sweetheart.

Ron Burgundy: [to dog] You're so wise. You're like a miniature Buddha, covered with hair.

----------

Ron Burgundy: You are a smelly pirate hooker!
Veronica Corningstone: You look like a blueberry!
Ron Burgundy: Why don't you go back to your home on Whore Island!

Veronica Corningstone: Well you... have bad hair!

----------

Ron Burgundy: Brian, I'm gonna be quite honest, that smells like pure gasoline.
Brian Fantana: They've done studies, you know. 60 percent of the time, it works every time.
Ron Burgundy: That doesn't make sense.

Yep... I bought a new drum set, nice eh??  I also bought a fog maching. Everyone should own a fog machine.

I guess the fog comes out of that little hole. HA.  This is going to be great.

Now I can play the drum set SURROUNDED WITH FOG.  Even better.. I'll use my strobe light too.

I have three treasures,

Which I guard and keep.

The first is compassion.

The second is economy.

The third is humility.

From compassion comes courage.

From economy comes the means to be generous.

From humility comes responsible leadership.

Today, men have discarded compassion

In order to be bold.

They have abandoned economy

In order to be big spenders.

They have rejected humility

In order to be first.

This is the road to death.

This is a small excerpt from The Te of Piglet, Benjamen Hoff.  It made me think a lot about how I've been trying to live my life.  Notice I said trying =).  It lists the three treasures: compassion, economy, and humility.  For me, these three things are in the right order of difficulty, humility being the hardest.

Compassion is the deep awareness of suffering in another coupled with the desire to relieve it.  This is the easiest only because it is a direct link of emotion between two people or one person and a group of people.  We each feel suffering in our own lives.  We all know suffering.  I believe a lot of our compassion is simply a direct result of man’s search for and love of happiness.   Happy people = happy world = happy me? What makes you happy?

Economy is a little harder than compassion.  Economy - We have limited resources so we have to figure out what’s most important to us and choose how to manage what we do have.

Humility doesn't take away from the fact that one can have goals and aspirations of his own.  It doesn't deprive one of her sense of self-pride and dignity... it shouldn't.  Humility is remembering that your victories are only worth it if you are able to share them with someone you love.  Humility only lowers our heads because in doing so we lift up the things we care most about.

-much love
